In both the Old and New Testaments, the character and holiness of God is the same. He is both holy and loving, and His righteous response to sin is dealt with in two ways: hell, which is a just response to sin against a holy God, or the cross of Jesus which satisfies God’s wrath. Those who trust in Christ are rescued from God’s wrath!
