We are excited to tell you about Action Ministry, our new special needs ministry here at Harmony Hill Baptist Church!
Action Ministry focuses on ministering to children with diverse abilities who may need more support to participate in ministry programs. We welcome families with children who have special needs, and we want them and you to feel comfortable attending church as a family.
We are glad to have the opportunity to offer a sensory-friendly classroom that will support all learners. The Action Class provides an environment where children with diverse special needs can comfortably participate in children’s ministry. The classroom set-up allows for a smaller group setting, large-muscle movement during play time, and tranquil areas when quiet time is needed. Children will learn the gospel of Christ through modified interactive Bible story time, crafts, games, and worship.
In order to provide the best experience for you and your child, we request that you to fill out an Action Survey and meet with the director of Action Ministry prior to your child’s first visit. This will help establish your child’s needs and make a classroom accommodation plan. Whether we provide an Action Buddy for inclusion support for your child or you would like them to participate in the Action Class, we would like to offer the opportunity to meet specific special needs of children as much as we can.
We have compassionate, trained volunteers who are following God’s truth by putting their love for children with diverse special needs into action (1 John 3:18). They will strive with the best of their abilities to follow guidance provided by you for your child’s accommodations.
